The Bearded Brewery
The Bearded Brewery is a proper Cornish craft cider maker based in St Mawgan, just outside Newquay. They’ve built a bit of a cult following for their bold, slightly rebellious branding and big-flavoured ciders, everything from strong traditional apple ciders through to fruit-infused specials like mango, cherry, peach, and even barrel-aged blends.
Their approach is very “no frills, full flavour,” and they tour around Cornwall with pop-up bars and festival appearances, which makes them a familiar name at events like Looe Beer Festival.
At Looe Beer Festival, the fruit cider line-up is always a big crowd-pleaser, and the cherry and mango ciders are perfect examples of that festival-friendly style:
- Cherry Cider – Expect a vibrant ruby-coloured cider with a balance of sweet and tart cherry flavour. It’s usually refreshing rather than heavy, with a slightly tangy finish that keeps it crisp and drinkable in a festival setting. Think summer fruits, but with a proper cider backbone.
- Mango Cider – Much more tropical and juicy, this one leans into ripe mango sweetness with a soft, smooth cider base. It’s the kind of drink that goes down easily on a sunny day, more fruit-forward than sharp, and very popular with people who prefer sweeter, lighter ciders.
